I fell in love with typography when I attended art school. Working as a designer for the past 10 years, my obsession with type has grown exponentially. Over the past two years I have been taking lettering courses and decided I wanted to get into typeface design. I was one of ten people in the world accepted into the 2016 Type@Paris programme where I spent my summer in Paris learning typeface design. My first typeface, Sans Français, is available for free here. My goal is to continue designing typefaces that can be used by designers for years to come.
I am currently working on a bold italic & super fat version of Sans Français.
Over the couple years, I have developed an interested in hand-lettering and type design. I try and letter in my spare time and taken several lettering classes. I was accepted into the 2016 Type@Paris programe where I spent my summer in Paris learning typeface design. My first typeface, Sans Français, is available for free here.
I absolutely love logo design and branding. Scroll down to see a small sample of the brands I was lucky to work with.
As the Co-founder & Creative Chief of Boldfaced (formerly Fairgoods), and since we are a small team of two, I get the opportunity to design, source and create products for the online store. In addition, I am the art director, product photographer and do marketing for the brand. In the five years I have been working on the brand, I have created over 400 products from ideation, production, packaging, photographing and promoting.
I have become very passionate about product design and typography through my work at Boldfaced Goods.
Poster design is quite possibly my favourite thing to design. I love finding interesting ways of communicating a lot of information in the most smart and clean way possible. I love color, bold type and clean graphics for poster design.

I had the privilege of meeting with our local distillery and working on a bunch branding and packaging for them. This is one of their retail boxes that offers samples of their most popular spirits. I was also able to design packaging, merchandise and stamps for their tasting room.
During my time working on Boldfaced - I have designed hundreds of products and retail packaging for each. As a small online store, my challenge was to keep packaging cheap and flat (for shipping)
I was lucky enough to work on the branding and package design for a local tea company, Natur'el Tea. I combined vintage photography with modern graphic elements for a bright and beautiful series of tins.
During my six years at Trigger, I was able to conceptualize and design the client Christmas gifts. This was always a fun challenge to stay within budget and shipping constraints.
In 2011, our team was asked to create an annual report for the Calgary Zoo in under a week, with a very small printing budget. We decided to use the time and budget constraints to demonstrate the Zoo’s message about conservation.
Instead of a standard 28-page annual report, the annual was designed to fit on a single sheet of 100% recycled newsprint, saving reams of paper and ink. (see video below)

HotShop Yoga & Spin I had the fun opportunity of getting to work with a local hot yoga & spin studio and help them build their brand from the very beginning. I designed their logo, website, stationery, merchandise and signage. They now have three locations and are very successful.
Since the shop is both Spin and Yoga, the logo is a combination of a bike sprocket and a lotus pattern.
Eau Claire Distillery
In 2015 I was lucky enough to work on package design, merchandise and branding graphics for local Eau Claire Distillery and their tasting room.
In 2011, Chinook Centre wanted to raise awareness about their new expansion, and asked me to brand the mall as a high-end, luxurious place to shop. I created custom damask patterns for the new hoarding that showcased the higher end brands along with Chinook itself. Each damask showcased items from the new and more upscale stores. The Chinook damask continues to be used on all the new branding materials.
*Won a merit at the 2011 Anvil Awards for Environmental Design.
I wanted to make my wedding invitations really stand out. My save the date was laser etched and cut on 2mm oak, giving each piece a unique look. The save the date doubles as a magnet and custom stamps were ordered through Canada post for the envelopes.
For the formal invitation of my wedding, I hired illustrator Kyle Metcalf to draw the property of our wedding location. It shows the path the school bus we rented would take our guests from Calgary to Okotoks. Invites were printed on IKEA towels using a flat-bed printer.
I also designed a neon sign to be used at my wedding and created a video on the making of it.

I no longer have this business but from 2005-2015 I developed a large international clientele with my company Slip-Offs, where I hand-painted and customized canvas shoes. I customized over 500 pairs of shoes, and my work was featured on the Ellen DeGeneres show, MTV, as well as published in the History of Vans hardcover book.
Celebrities from Gilmore Girls, MTV, Ellen, Project Runway and Dragon's Den have worn my shoes. My business cards were designed to be one-of-a-kind, like the shoes.
